Pardon Our Dust

Well we have finally used all the space we possibly can in our Lakemoor, IL location. With 1200 sf to work with, we have found ourselves tripping over, squeezing in, stacking, and losing things everyday. To better serve our customers and to keep our own sanity, we have decided to build a loft in the back half of the shop.

This loft will bring us about 800 sf of pure storage. The plan is to have shelving in rows with just enough space for a person to walk between them. The front of the loft with also have a chain fall so we can hoist motors out of boats (something that we can not do all the time at the moment). I thank all of our customers for allowing us to make these renovations because if it was not for you we would have no need for the new 800 sf storage.

Thanks

Stop in for a BK Lunch

LUNCH TIME!

April (co-owner Mike's wife) has been pounding the pavement each day from about noon to one selling lunch. Many people (like ourselves) do not have time to leave the complex for lunch. Even if you did we have 2 options a $9 hotdog from the corner place, or a $6 value meal from McDonalds.

So April had the idea to service the complex with the BK Cart & Grill. For the BK meal you get:
Dog, Chips, Pop - add all the toppings you want for no fee. Still hungry? Add an additional dog for a buck!

Hows that for a deal, and better yet... WE came to YOU!

Stop in to say hi, and grab a bite!

Fox Lake 4th of July Parade

This was our 3rd year in the Fox Lake 4th of July Parade. This might have been the best yet. We introduced our goofy mascot, Cpt. Strip'n'Ship. We had a nice turn out for walkers in the parade too. I think we really made an impression! A lot of cards went out and a lot of High Fives were thrown. I love doing the parades because you can have a great time and spread the word about BK.

Corporate Retreat

Owners Mike and Doug joined 20 of their friends for a camping trip out in Blancharville, Wisconsin this past weekend. While it was considered a vacation, there was a lot of talk about boats. The lake at the Yellowstone Lake State Park was filled with boats that caught our attention. There was a Bayliner that we were licking our lips at....it would have made a nice parts boat.

Wisconsin folks are so nice and are very laid back. We met a gentleman that owns a campground just out of the gates of the State Park. He saw the truck and asked what we did and all that. He was looking for a lower unit for his Johnson, and an offer on his row boats.

The trip was great fun and a nice weekend away from the hussle and bussle of the shop. It is nice to take a deep breath and look away for a second. That way you can return with a clear mind and a smiling face.

FaceBook, Twitter, and Blogs...OH MY

Mike and Doug just got back from a meeting with Matt Batt (Pipeline Marketing). We learned a lot about FaceBook and Twitter. We got some nice tips like Twellow.com and Tweetlater.com. We are going to be implementing some of these new tips, so let us know what you like amd dislike!

Crazy Week

This week we are down one man. Mike, Co-Owner, threw his owner card on the table and went to visit family in Florida for a week! That has left Doug to run the shop and Pete to assist. While Mike has been kicking it on the beach and swimming in the pool, the shop has been in full swing. Between shipping and customer support, there was barely enough time to take a boat to the landfill, buy a fishing boat, and haul another boat to Barrington.

One man down really throws things off balance a little, but we all need to get away sometimes.

See ya when ya get back Boss Hog!

Trailer Racing

Our trailer racing buddy, Trailer Racin' Matt, placed 3rd in the Kar Korner’s World Famous Trailer Race. The race was this past weekend at the Rockford Speedway. We painted the boat up REAL nice for him this time! If you have not seen a trailer race, you gotta catch one some time. It is a demo race and the last car around the track with a 'trailer' still in tow WINS!
